Let me tell you a little about myself…
Hello! I am so excited to meet you! My name is Katy and I am the owner of Willow and Bond.
I am a New York based wedding and event photographer and florist, born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I came to NYC in 2010 to study photography at the School of Visual Arts where I graduated and obtained my BFA in Fine Art and Photography. Since graduating I have worked as a photo assistant, production coordinator, photographer, and florist.
Some of my hobbies outside of photography and florals include hiking/backpacking, Brazilian jiu jitsu, reading a good novel, and making ice cream. Bit of a weird mix, I know.
After my school days were over, I started my photography career in the fashion world working for Jeffrey New York. During my time there I had begun to photograph events and parties and was loving the energy and excitement they carried. Eventually a few friends asked me to photograph their weddings. It was during these times that I had the most fun and felt the most passionate about what I was doing. Photographing the love that people share and the pure joy and excitement of friends and family is what makes my job so gratifying. I love capturing these moments! Whether it be a flash of a smile or a graceful grand entrance, photographing allows me to help each person, couple, and group to tell their story through photographs. I believe that everyone has a unique point of view, so whether you decide to elope, have a 200+ guest wedding, or a 1st birthday party, I will thoughtfully photograph your event with your personality and requests in mind. It is my goal to provide you with lasting images that will help you relive those moments forever.
I am always interested in the real expressions and raw moments that come with every celebration, but I am also more than happy to help direct you if you want a little help. In the end, though, want to capture the real you and aim to create meaningful photos while having the best time! Everyone has moments worth celebrating and I am so excited to be celebrating with you!
